Our pledge is to bring clean water to one million people in Africa.
Donate TodayWater Changes Everything
Together, we are making a significant, life-changing difference for people in Africa—one million people to be exact.
Water Changes Health
Access to clean water significantly reduces the risk of waterborne diseases, decreases the likelihood of malnutrition, and promotes proper hygiene within communities—all leading to better health and bigger opportunities.
Water Changes Education
Access to clean water not only gives children time to attend school, it also provides a safe learning environment. With access to latrines and education about good sanitation and hygiene practices, students have the resources they need to grow into healthy adults.
Water Changes Community
Women and children almost solely bear the burden of collecting water for their families and communities, walking long distances to the nearest lake, river, or pond to collect unsafe water. Providing access to a reliable clean water source allows women and children the opportunity to become active participants in their communities.
Water Changes Artwork
Clean water provides more time and stability. By eliminating the daily task of collecting water and alleviating the health risks associated with unsafe drinking water, individuals can dedicate more time to pursuing creative endeavors. Kalahari has established a borehole at Chitungwiza Art Center in Zimbabwe, providing the artistic community with a reliable water source. Artists use the water to sculpt awe-inspiring pieces that provide a source of income. Kalahari Resorts showcases millions of dollars in traditional African art across our authentically African-themed resorts.
The Nelson Family
The Nelson family, founders, owners, and operators of Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, have been unwaveringly committed to enhancing the well-being of African communities through clean water initiatives. Their dedication and enthusiasm for assisting others have grown over the years, leading to a partnership with charity: water.
They are dedicated to making the world a better place and passionate about creating opportunities that improve the lives of those in need. To expand their impact, they have made a long-term commitment to deliver clean water to one million people in Africa, the country that inspired them to build the Kalahari Resorts.
Water gives Joy; let’s Celebrate!
Todd Nelson, owner and CEO of Kalahari Resorts, shares this with all his guests, "There is never, nor will there ever be, a more beautiful place on Earth than Africa."
The warmth, love, and joy experienced when interacting with the African people are truly remarkable. Joy and celebration are evident in every corner of the continent. In collaboration with pop stars Rae and Bongi, we have produced a music video titled "Water Dance," which honors the stunning vibrancy of Africa and the happiness that access to clean water provides. We invite you to enjoy this celebration of life and culture.
