We ask that you read and abide by all rule and procedures here and throughout our Waterpark. Have fun. Be Safe. 

General Safety Information

Indoor Waterpark

  • Life vests are required for all children under 48". At Kalahari Resorts, the safety and security of our guests is our number one priority. In our indoor and outdoor Waterparks, Kalahari is proud to meet, and in many cases, exceed state and federal guidelines for Waterpark safety. Although many children possess excellent swimming capabilities in standard pools, Kalahari Resorts requires all children under 48" to wear a life vest for added safety while enjoying our Waterparks. You are encouraged to bring your own life vest if it is well fitting and U.S. Coast Guard approved. Complimentary life vests are available in the Waterpark on a first come first served basis.
  • Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • State law prohibits any food or beverage to be brought in from outside the Waterpark.
  • Section 1711.551 of Revised Ohio State Code requires that riders must obey all warnings and directions regarding attractions and behave in a manner that will not cause or contribute to injury to themselves or others.
  • Riders must be 42" (1.07 m.) or taller to ride.
  • Single riders only.
  • Each rider is required to use only Kalahari race mats.
  • Each rider will lie on their stomach on the mat in the prone body position, head first.
  • Guests exit landing area by walking straight ahead, not walking across lanes.
  • Guests will return mat to designated mat area.
  • Only guests wearing suitable swimming attire may ride.
  • Footwear is not to be worn while riding.
  • Life vests are not permitted while riding.
  • Pregnant women, guests with heart conditions or respiratory problems, guests with neck or back problems, guests exceeding 250 lbs., and guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not ride attraction.
  • Riders should have the physical and cognitive abilities to remain in a head-first position while holding on to mat handles and controlling their limbs throughout the course of the ride. Riders will encounter strong acceleration and deceleration forces from the front, rear and all sides during the course of the ride.

Yellow Slide:

  • Absolutely no adults are permitted on this attraction.
  • Only guests under 52 inches are permitted to participate in the slides within this attraction.
  • Children must be under adult supervision at all times.
  • Guest under 48 inches tall are required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket and be directly accompanied by an adult.
  • Pool depth is 12 inches.
  • Eyeglasses must be securely affixed to riders with head straps.
  • Swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornamentation is not permitted. Riders must be barefoot.
  • Only one rider to enter the flume at a time. Single riders only!
  • Never form chains.
  • Slide must be ridden feet first lying on your back or in a sitting position (sit up to go slower, lie down to go faster).
  • Riders must wait for the area to be clear of other participants/riders before starting the ride.
  • Keep arms and hands inside the tubes at all times.
  • Do not run, dive, stand, kneel, rotate, or stop in the slide.
  • At the end of the slide, exit quickly and obey all instruction by the splash pool attendant.
  • CAUTION: For safety reasons, pregnant women and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride this slide.

BASKETBALL POOL

  • Always listen to lifeguard.
  • No horseplay.
  • Guests under 48 inches tall are required to wear a life vest.
  • Guests under 48 inches tall must be within arms reach of an adult at all times.
  • No slam dunking.
  • Water depth is 3 feet 6 inches.
  • Life vests are strongly recommended for all non or weak swimmers.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO DIVING.


KIDDIE POOL

  • Guests under 48 inches are required to wear a life vest to participate in this attraction.
  • Maximum operational load: 1 person, 200 lbs (91 kg).
  • Area is reserved for children under 52 inches (1.32 m.) tall and their adult guardians. All children must be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times.
  • Pool depth is 12 inches.
  • Eyeglasses must be securely affixed to riders with head straps.
  • Swim wear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornamentation are not permitted. Riders must be bare foot.
  • Only one rider to enter the flume at a time. Single riders only!
  • Never form chains.
  • Slide must be ridden feet first lying on your back or in a sitting position (sit up to go slower, lie down to go faster).
  • Riders must wait for the attendant’s start signal before starting the ride.
  • Keep arms and hands inside the tubes at all times.
  • Do not run, dive, stand, kneel, rotate, or stop in the slide.
  • At the end of the slide, exit quickly and obey all instruction by splash pool attendant.
  • CAUTION: For safety reasons, pregnant women and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride this slide.
  • This is a very strenuous ride. Riders must be able to swim in turbulent moving water.
  • Bodyboarding this sheet wave is a body - active, participatory sport. As with all sports, care must be taken to avoid injury.
  • Riders must be in good physical condition and free from any physical limitations to participate. Pregnant women and persons with a history of heart, back, neck, shoulder or joint problems should not ride.
  • Riders must be at least 42 inches tall to participate in bodyboarding and 52 inches tall to surf.
  • The maximum weight limit is 300 lbs.
  • Jewelry, hats, eyeglasses, or loose articles of any type are not recommended on the ride as they may injure the participant or damage the ride surface.
  • Bodyboarding: When instructed by the Gatekeeper, place your body board into the launch ramp, slick side down. Lie down with your stomach on the bodyboard; head first, with your hips along the rear edge of the board. Your legs should be extended straight behind you. Your hands should grab the forward rails of the board.
  • Avoid jumping into or entering the ride at high speeds -- YOU WILL WIPE OUT!
  • Steer your bodyboard into the center of the flowing water. You can control your body board by gently shifting your weight. Obey the wave staff at all times.
  • Single riding only is permitted. No tandem riders or multiple single riding is allowed.
  • The flowing water may pull off bathing suit tops, bottoms and loose clothing. Cover-ups are required for guests wearing two-piece swimsuits.
  • Horseplay and daredevil stunts are not permitted.
  • Riders must be barefoot.
  • CAUTION! The ride surface is very slippery.
  • NO TANDEM RIDERS.
  • GUESTS MAY NOT DROP IN FROM THE TOP WHEN RIDING.

Attention: All guests must attend a FlowRider orientation prior to riding stand-up. Times for Flow orientation include 9:15AM, 6:45PM, and 15 minutes after the park closes.

Section 1711.551 of Revised Ohio State Code requires that riders must obey all warnings and directions regarding attractions and behave in a manner that will not cause or contribute to injury to themselves or others.

  • Tubes are not required.
  • Guests under 48 inches are required to wear a life vest to participate in this attraction.
  • The river is 2 feet 8 inches deep.
  • Enter and exit at designated areas only.
  • No rough play. No jumping or diving into the lazy river.
  • All children less than 48 inches (1.22 m.) must be directly supervised by an adult.
  • Life jackets are required for children under 48 inches (1.22 m.) tall and are recommended for weak swimmers.
  • WARNING: No diving or jumping.
  • Elderly persons and patrons suffering from heart disease, diabetes, or high or low blood pressure should not enter the whirlpool.
  • Due to health and safety concerns and per Ohio state law, children under six years of age are not permitted to use hot tubs.
  • Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs may not use the whirlpool.
  • Pregnant women should consult their physician regarding whirlpool usage.
  • Lengthy exposure may be hazardous to your health and may result in nausea, dizziness, or fainting.
  • Children who are not toilet-trained are required to wear swim diapers.
  • Repeated or extended use of hot tubs may cause eye, throat, and skin irritations.
  • Pool Depth: 10 inches
  • The area is reserved for children under 52" in height.
  • Children under 6 years of age must be accompanied by an adult
  • No diving! Shallow water!
  • One rider at a time on any slide
  • No crawling up the slide.
  • Riders must be seated and slide down feet first. No kneeling while descending slide.
  • No running, jumping, or horseplay will be allowed.
  • Absolutely no one may slide down head first.
  • Failure to abide by these rules may result in injury to you or others.
  • For your child's safety, only Coast Guard approved flotation devices are permitted.
  • Section 1711.551 of Revised Ohio State Code requires that riders must obey all warnings and direction regarding attractions and behave in a manner that will not cause or contribute to injury to themselves or others.
  • Capacity: 136
  • Guests under 48 inches are required to wear a life vest to participate in this attraction.
  • An adult must supervise children under 6 years old.
  • No running on or around the water play unit.
  • No headfirst sliding on slides or in tunnels.
  • Maximum pool depth is 12 inches.
  • No climbing on pipes or handrails. No hanging or swinging on pull ropes.
  • Valves and handles are accessible to allow children and adults to throttle and play with the water. We encourage you and your children to turn, pull and open these valves to have fun with the water effect you create.
  • Maximum operational load: 1 person, 300 lbs (136 kg) each slide at a time.
  • Children under 40 inches (1.00 m) tall must be supervised by an adult.
  • Eyeglasses must be securely affixed to riders with head straps.
  • Swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornamentation is not permitted. Riders must be barefoot.
  • Only one rider to enter the slide at a time. Single riders only! Never form chains.
  • Slide must be ridden feet first lying on your back.
  • Pool depth: 3 1/2 feet.
  • Riders must be 42” (1.07 m.) or taller to ride with an adult or 48” (1.22 m.) or taller to ride without an adult. Guests between 42 and 48 inches may ride only if accompanied by an adult AND wearing a Life Jacket. 700 LBS combined maximum weight.
  • Double Whirly Wheel tubes, and Cloverleaf tubes only, no tandem riding, a minimum of two riders per vehicle sitting opposite from each other and one rider per seat.
  • Maximum individual rider weight of 250lbs. Maximum total weight for Whirly Wheel tubes is 400lbs. and maximum total weight for the Cloverleaf tubes is 700lbs. Triple and quadruple riders will be placed such that the heavier two are sitting opposite of each other.
  • Please hold on to tube handles for the duration of the ride.
  • Only guests wearing suitable swimming attire may ride.
  • Footwear is not to be worn while riding.
  • Eyewear such as prescription glasses or goggles is permitted with an appropriate head strap.
  • CAUTION: Pregnant women, guests with heart conditions or respiratory problems, guests with neck or back problems, guests exceeding 250 lbs., and guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not ride attraction.
  • Pool depth: 3 feet.
  • Guests less than 48 inches are required to wear a life vest to participate in this attraction.
  • All guests less than 42" tall must be in arm’s reach of an adult at all times.
  • No horseplay.
  • No slam dunking.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO DIVING.
  • Pool Depth 3 feet 6 inches
  • Persons less than 48” tall are not permitted on this attraction
  • No eyewear, footwear, or additional floatation devices are permitted
  • Only guests wearing suitable swim attire may ride
  • Always carry Slideboards by the handles or from the underneath seat surround
  • Do not drag Slideboards on the ground
  • Slideboards must be ridden in a seated position, facing forward, feet extended out straight & with riders back against the backrest
  • Riders must wait for the countdown to finish and see the “go” sign on the screen above the launch.
  • At the end of the ride, exit safely off the Slideboard with your feet first and obey all instructions of the lifeguard
  • CAUTION: This slide utilizes animated and strobing lights, loud sounds and other factors which may trigger seizures. Pregnant women, a guest with heart conditions or respiratory problems, guests with neck or back problems, guests exceeding 250 lbs., and guests under the influence of alcohol and drugs should not ride this attraction.

Section 1711.551 of Revised Ohio State Code requires that riders must obey all warnings and directions regarding attractions and behave in a manner that will not cause or contribute to injury to themselves or others.

  • CAUTION: This is an extreme ride. Riders will experience strong acceleration and deceleration forces from all directions.
  • Pool depth: 3 1/2 feet.
  • Riders must be 48" (1.22 m.) or taller to ride.
  • Double Whirly Wheel tubes and Four Person Cloverleaf tubes only. No tandem riding. Minimum of two riders per vehicle sitting opposite from each other. One rider per seat.
  • Maximum individual rider weight of 250 lbs. Maximum total weight for Whirly Wheel tubes is 400 lbs. and the maximum total weight for the Cloverleaf tubes is 700 lbs. Triple and quadruple riders will be placed such that the heavier two are sitting opposite of each other.
  • Riders must remain seated and hold onto the handles for the duration of the ride.
  • Only guests wearing suitable swimming attire may ride.
  • Footwear is not to be worn while riding.
  • Eyewear such as prescription glasses or goggles is permitted with an appropriate head strap.
  • CAUTION: Pregnant women, guests with heart conditions or respiratory problems, guests with neck or back problems, guests exceeding 250 lbs., and guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not ride attraction.
  • CAUTION: This attraction is for strong swimmers only, pool depth: 6 1/2 feet.
  • Persons less than 48" tall are not permitted on this attraction.
  • The maximum operational load is 1 person under 250 lbs. Never form chains
  • No eyewear or floatation devices are permitted.
  • The ride must be ridden feet first lying on your back with legs firmly crossed at ankles while clasping hands behind head.
  • Only guests wearing suitable swimming attire may ride.
  • Footwear is not to be worn while riding.
  • Riders must wait for the signal before starting the ride.
  • Do not run, dive, stand, kneel, or stop in the slide.
  • At the end of the slide, exit quickly and obey all instructions by an attendant.
  • Pregnant women, guests with heart conditions or respiratory problems, guests with neck or back problems, guests exceeding 250 lbs., and guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not ride attraction.
  • Maximum weight per tube: 650lbs (295 kg).
  • Persons under 42 inches tall are not permitted on this ride.
  • Splash pool is 3 feet 6 inches deep. Do not jump or dive from the raft into the pool.
  • Eyeglasses must be securely affixed to riders with head straps. No loose articles permitted.
  • Swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornaments is not permitted. Riders must be barefoot.
  • Only one raft to enter the flume at a time.
  • Never form chains.
  • Step into rafts carefully - no jumping or diving. Sit in rafts fully seated with back against the tube, holding handles with both hands.
  • Riders must stay in the rafts during the ride. If you accidentally fall from the raft continue on down the flume without it and exit normally.
  • Riders must wait for the attendants start signal before starting the ride.
  • Keep arms and hands inside the tubes at all times.
  • Do not run, dive, stand, kneel, rotate, or stop in the slide.
  • At the end of the slide, stay in raft until directed by splash pool attendant to exit.
  • CAUTION: For safety reasons. Pregnant women and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride this slide.
  • Deepest point: 6 feet.
  • All guests less than 48" (1.22 m.) tall must be in arm's reach of an adult at all times.
  • Life jackets are required for children under 48 inches (1.22 m.) tall and are recommended for weak swimmers.
  • Children under 48 inches (1.22 m.) tall may not pass the 4-foot depth marker.
  • Only life jackets authorized by the resort shall be allowed in the wave pool, only Coast Guard Certified floatation devices are permitted (Complimentary life jackets available at Guest Service Area).
  • Prolonged exposure to wave action may result in fatigue.
  • Exercise caution in deep water.
  • Maximum operational load: 1 person, 300lbs (136 kg).
  • Persons under 42 inches (1.07 m.) tall are not permitted on this ride.
  • No loose articles permitted.
  • Swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornaments is not permitted. Riders must be barefoot.
  • Life vests are not permitted while riding.
  • Only one rider to enter the slide at a time. Single riders only!

  • Guests are not permitted to remain in the runout. Please exit the runout as quickly as possible.
  • Only guests wearing suitable swimming attire may ride the flume. Swimming attire with buckles, rivets, or any sharp objects that may damage the flume will not be permitted.
  • Footwear is not permitted to be worn on this ride.
  • Eyewear is not permitted to be worn on this ride.
  • For riders to safely experience Extreme Rush, each rider should have the physical and cognitive abilities to remain in the supine position and control their limbs during the course of the ride. Once guests enter the “Drop Chute” start, they should lean back with their head and back against the flume, feet first, looking straight ahead, with their legs crossed at the ankles and their hands behind their head or neck with their fingers locked, arms hugging their ears and elbows pointing towards the front.
  • Pregnant women, guests with heart conditions, guests with neck or back problems, guests with recent surgery or illness, guests with high blood pressure or aneurysms, and guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not be permitted to ride.

  • Goggles are not permitted on this ride. Prescription eyewear is allowed if secured with a strap.
  • Guests must have a double tube to ride.
  • Guests must sit in the back of the tube with legs forward.
  • Single vehicles only are to be dispatched. No chains or multiples of vehicles will be permitted to ride.
  • Riders and tubes are not permitted to remain in the splash pool. Please exit the splash pool with your tube as quickly as possible.
  • Only guests wearing suitable swimming attire may ride the flume. Swimming attire with buckles, rivets, or any sharp objects that may damage the vehicle are not permitted.
  • Footwear is not permitted to be worn on this ride.
  • For riders to safely experience Sahara Sidewinder, each rider should have the physical and cognitive abilities to hold themselves in an upright seated position within the vehicle throughout the course of the ride. All riders should firmly grasp the handles of the tubes at all times during the ride, up to and including entry into the splash pool at the exit of the waterslide.
  • Pregnant women, guests with heart conditions, guests with neck or back problems, guests with recent surgery or illness, guests with high blood pressure or aneurysms, and guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not be permitted to ride.

  • Guests are not permitted to remain in the runout. Please exit the runout as quickly as possible.
  • Only guests wearing suitable swimming attire may ride the flume. Swimming attire with buckles, rivets, or any sharp objects that may damage the flume will not be permitted.
  • Footwear is not permitted to be worn on this ride.
  • For riders to safely experience Serengeti Spinner, each rider should have the physical and cognitive abilities to remain in the supine position, guests should lay feet first, face up, with their legs crossed at the ankles with their arms crossed over the chest with their hands on opposite shoulders for the entire ride.
  • Pregnant women, guests with heart conditions, guests with neck or back problems, guests with recent surgery or illness, guests with high blood pressure or aneurysms, and guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not be permitted to ride.

  • Pregnant women, guests with heart conditions, guests with neck or back problems, guests with recent surgery or illness, guests with high blood pressure or aneurysms, and guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not be permitted to ride.

Safari Outdoor Adventure Park

  • A parent or legal guardian must sign a waiver for participants less than 18 years of age.
  • Section 1711.551 of Revised Ohio State Code requires that riders must obey all warnings and directions regarding attractions and behave in a manner that will not cause or contribute to injury to themselves or others.
  • Participants are required to have closed toed shoes, full length t-shirt, shorts that are just above the knee (Harness cannot rest on skin), glasses must be fixed to an eye glass strap.
  • Guests must be a minimum of 44" tall.
  • Guests must safely fit in the harness.
  • Belay rope should stay in between shoulders at all times.
  • Climbers must not climb up the belay rope or use it as an aid.
  • Must not climb above the top belay anchor.
  • Climb straight to top, no zig-zagging.
  • Do not cross belay ropes.
  • Shoes must be closed-toed and secure.
  • Pockets must be empty.
  • No loose objects such as cell phones or cameras.
  • No smoking in line or on the attraction.

  • Sling should stay in between shoulders at all times.
  • Sling line must be on the trailing side of your neck and head when moving sideways.
  • Do not touch the overhead tracking system.

  • Only one climber on an activity at a time except if a child is being assisted by an adult.
